Steady Progress

It’s been a pretty hectic week. The first few days were a mad scramble of paper prototyping, first building it and then getting some eyes on it. On Tuesday we took it to a board game developers meeting where we got some classic board game guys to take a gander. None of them really understood video games, so a lot was definitely lost on them. One in particular had some really scathing critique to offer, much of which seemed silly. But we did get some good feedback as well. The next day I came up with some pretty solid solutions, and at this point we’re both rather happy with the prototype. The basic mechanics are pretty much locked in now as far as I’m concerned. Within a few weeks we’ll be revealing just how they work.

We also got ourselves a sound guy to make some trailer music! Likely won’t need his services for at least another month, but it’s good to have him on call. He seems really enthusiastic about making sound for us too. The art seems to be hooking people, which is definitely a good sign.
